Gardeners and farmers alike use compact tractor implements daily in their gardening and farming. These implements are held in place by a 3-point hitch, whose lift arms attaches to each side of the implement. Used for spreading, the box blade can level and move gravel, dirt and anything else. There may also be rippers attached to this type of implement that will allow undisturbed soil to be worked. While a road blade can also be used in this manner, it cannot be utilized for leveling. 
Soil can be worked using a tiller implement. It functions in the same way to till soil as a tine tiller, but it utilizes power take-off or PTO by connecting the tractor to the implement by a shaft. The tiller is especially good when breaking new ground or large scale tilling. 
Heavy material can be lifted with the use of a lift strap or a chain attached to a lift boom. A lift boom is useful for lifting of large objects that are too large to be handled by the human hand. An example of such an object is the engine of a car. Another implement is a post digger. This implement can be used for the digging of holes for small trees and shrubs and also for fence posts. It utilizes the PTO shaft and easily handles holes that are hard to dig. Breaking undisturbed soil that is at least eight inches deep, is the job of the plow implement. It will allow the disc harrow implement to work the soil once it is brought to the surface of the ground. The disc harrow implement utilizes its large flat round metal blades that cut into the plowed soil while the tractor is pulling. Another implement is the yard rake, which removes debris like roots and rocks away from pastures and yards in preparation for the planting of grass. 
These are some of the most frequently used tractor implements that provide useful capabilities for farmers with a vast amount of land to be worked. |
